"An Object of Beauty" by Steve Martin

posted Mar 10, 2011 8:34 AM by Marie Johannes

I've read it and thought other artists might enjoy it, too! My copy is available if you're interested.... I'll leave it with Carolyn Bailey at Nest-Artistic Home and you can pick it up from her at the March 25th get together there!

Review: At first I kept thinking as I read whether I thought Steve Martin was a good writer or not. I think his age was showing with some of the vocabulary he chose, but as the plot moved on I soon forgot all that and just wanted to know what was going to happen next. I loved ALL the references to artists we all studied in Art History classes and was intrigued by the heroine's movement through the New York (so totally out of my) art scene. Full color images of the art work is spursed throughout the book.
