Greetings AOTA members! We would like to invite you for refreshments and viewing of our new Art Gallery in Tabernash, TAB fine art, on Saturday September 10th from
3 to 5pm. If you would like to bring a drink or dish, that would be
great, but of course not required! The gallery is located in the Morgan
Merc Building next to the Tavern. For more info, see below. Also, we
will be open until 8, so latecomers are welcome! Looking forward to seeing everyone. About TAB f i n e a r t TAB fine art is a gallery run by Millar Kelley and Carolyn Bailey Cissell. TAB
(short for Tabernash and Brooklyn) is based in Tabernash Colorado, and
will also show at various locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. On view now is TAB’s inaugural exhibition of paintings titled Portals and Poets,
which is Part I of the series: Brooklyn Transmigration. This series is
the brainchild of Millar, a Colorado native who has been a painter in
NYC for the past 14 years. Millar felt it would be valuable to offer a
venue for cultural and artistic exchange between Grand County and New
York. TAB fine art
will offer insightful and illuminating work for public view and sale,
both in the gallery, and on a much bigger scale through our large
database of artists and artworks. Carolyn and Millar are available to
provide experienced art consultation to individuals and businesses
interested in starting or adding to their collections. Tab
will also offer a variety of community programs, including an art
appreciation discussion group, visiting artist lectures and openings. Gallery hours for the autumn 2011 season will be Thurs-Fri-Sat 3pm to 8pm, sun 2-7pm, and by appointment (call 917. 309. 6631 or 970. 531. 8625) We look forward to seeing you! |

Friday, August 5, is the date of our next AOTA get together. We will
meet at the Grand Lake Lodge at 5 PM - on the Deer Deck if the weather
is nice, otherwise inside. Grand Lake Lodge is just off HWY34 between
the Grand Lake turnoff and the entrance to RMNP.

Since July 5th is so close to our opening night on June 28th, we're going to have our next get-together on August 5th. We had such a nice time at Marjorie's gallery we're going to do it again in August. We'll meet from 6-8 pm. You're welcome to display some work. There should be a lot of people in town since it's a Friday night and her gallery is right on the boardwalk. Bring some munchies and wine if you like. You can check out Marjorie's web site here. |

I'm happy to say that our May get-together will be at the Grand Lake Art Gallery from 6-8pm.
It's so nice to meet at a gallery - lots of great artwork to look at while we're there! Please bring a snack or appetizer and a beverage of your choice if you like.
If anyone would like to volunteer to arrange locations for our future meetings, I'd sure appreciate the help. We can meet at restaurants or member homes - if someone wants to host one, please speak up.
Good news - both Stacey Peterson and Donna Lyons were juried into the 15th annual Plein Air Artists Colorado Show. Stacey has two pieces and Donna three. The show and sale is hosted by Saks Gallery in Denver from June 24 - July 9.
Karla Booth was juried into the 13th annual Downtown Denver Arts Festival. It's over Memorial Day weekend at the Denver Pavillions.

I hope you can join us at the Nest on March 25th - 6-9pm Bring a dish to pass. This is a casual get-together of fellow artists and art lovers. Carolyn has a lot of nice work in her shop. The shop is located in Cooper Creek Square -- center of the complex on the ground floor....next to Smokin' Mo's.
We'll skip April 5th and go back to meeting on the 5th in May.

We had a nice time at the Blue Water Bakery earlier this month. It was decided that the part-time residents might never make a meeting if we went quarterly, so we'll stick to monthly for the most part. We are going to skip March 5th and instead meet at Nest.artistic home in Cooper Creek on Friday, March 25th from 6-9pm. Carolyn already hosts an artist's social/open house on the last Friday of every month so we'll join her for this one. Please bring an appetizer or snack to share. Should be a great get-together with art all around us!
Marjorie Cranston is showing her new pastels from the wineries of Napa & Sonoma tonight at Caroline's Cuisine. They're having a wine tasting from 5-7pm - $25 per person for wine & food pairing. Call Caroline's at 627-9404 for reservations.
Our annual show will once again be at the Pole Creek Golf Course. We'll hang the show on Monday, June 27th and the opening is Tuesday, June 28th. It's going up a little earlier than usual to avoid the conflict of having the opening on a Thursday, which is already a busy night for the restaurant. I'm happy to say the show will be up for the whole month of July - we'll take it down August 1st or 2nd. I'll have more details and an application ready soon.

See you tonight (this evening actually) at Circle H on Hwy 34 between Granby and Grand Lake. A little earlier than our usual time because of early winter nightfall..... See you between 4:30 and 6:30. There are some nice options for light eating! |
